Too Many Crux: Behind the Screen
This part of Dead Gods is definitely one of the weakest. If you’re on a tight time deadline, you could probably skip straight to chapter 3 if you really wanted. The main problem is that there is only one thread to pull, and the adventure only gives one signpost of how to discover the thread in the first place. More signposts are needed.
Here are extra leads I prepared. They’re mostly in the southern end of the town:
Zebrinth acquires some of her secret ingredients through trade with the ratatosk. Recently they’ve halted business with her though, and with little warning. Zebrinth will be as vague as possible about the nature of her dealings with the ratatosk, but she will name Glittereye if the conversation leads that way.
The body of the ratatosk murdered at the storehouses was taken by the workers at the slaughterhouse. Molhas Vreid tried cooking it to see how it might taste – but the meat spoiled almost immediately.
Laibor at Laibor’s Livery used to have her business harassed by the ratatosk, with the squirrelfolk sneaking in and throwing chips of tree bark at the beetles and goats. But they’ve been pleasantly quiet this past month or two.
