Too Many Crux: Campaign Diary
Having just seen a mad ratatosk proclaiming doom, the players have a brief chat on the street with Flederoth, and Zebrinth comes out to see what the ruckus is about. Zebrinth, an overweight and lazy bariaur, makes smalltalk about the ratatosk – they’ve been weird recently – and invites the players into her shop. 12-Bar successfully prompts a tasting session of Zebrinth’s Reserve at 10.30am. It’s good. 12-Bar picks up a bottle.
The party spends a bit of time in the town’s tool shop, before Ragados’ curiosity finally overwhelms him and he makes everyone tag along with him to the Woodcarvers’ Guild to check out the craftsmanship. 12-Bar plays his song about the Old Church, while riding on the back of a Tenser’s Floating Disk conjured by M’narr. The performance goes very well, and the head of the guild compliments 12-Bar. The Guildmaster, Marlus Van, is a little more concerned about the local ratatosk, and local tribe leader Glittereye in particular.
The trio head to High Point to see if anyone in the local militia has much to say, and to ask where any nearby portals to Sigil might be found. The local captain’s cagey, but suggests some assistance if they can stop the head of the Woodcarvers’ Guild from bothering him about the ratatosk. While they had really hoped to speak to Veridis, the local high-up, it’s now clear that the goal should be to seek out the ratatosk, and so the party head off to search without delay. They find a few before too long, and are bombarded with riddles and insults. The ratatosk seem to already know the trio, the “human”, the “short human”, and the “ball”. The “human” solves a riddle and the “ball” convinces the squirrels to take them to see Glittereye...
